Physics is a fundamental subject in many areas of science and therefore a good background in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Biology/Geography/Agric. Sci., are very important for success. Students who discover that they have some deficiency with regard to the background in any of these areas should commit extra study time to improve, especially in the early weeks of the semester. The general entry requirements are as follows: i. Prospective candidates of B. Sc Physics major must satisfy the University admission requirements. It is mandatory that the student must have had five (5) credits at the ordinary level (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, etc) in English Language, Physics Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology/Geography/Agricultural Science, at not more than two sittings. ii. For UTME candidates through JAMB, candidates must possess at least two advanced level passes one of which must be in Physics and the other in any science subject (in addition to credit in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology/Geography/Agricultural Science at ordinary level). iii. Direct Entry (DE) candidates through National Certificate of Education (NCE) and Diploma must possess credit level passes in two major relevant subjects. In addition, the candidates should meet the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in (ii) above. iv. Above requirements are accepted subject to passing UTME organized by JAMB. For DE, candidates must fulfil the JAMB requirements.
